What We Do
Harbor of Hope is a residential addiction recovery center that provides a positive, structured program to its residents. The Harbor acts as a bridge between the Iowa Department of Corrections and the community. Most admitted residents volunteer to enter the program through the coordination of the Iowa Drug Court.
The cost savings to the state to house the residents are substantial; the daily cost to keep an inmate in prison is $74, rehabilitation at the Harbor cost $25 a day.

After successfully completing the program, residents will be clean and sober and obtain permanent employment and housing. These goals lead the graduate to effectively integrate back into his community.
